The Daisy Chain Cake

The Daisy Chain Cake

In all honesty, this cake was a complete accident. It was supposed to be all pink, but I was short on pink fondant and I had some yellow so.....I laid just enough yellow fondant on the top of the cake to cover the top and about 1/2 inch on the side of the cake. Then I rolled out enough pink fondant to wrap around the cake.
For this 4 layer cake, I made 40 large daisies, placing one on top of the other to have 20 daisies with the petals slightly offset on the cake. Roll out 20 small white or yellow balls to place in the center. Brush a small amount of water on one side of the balls and cover in yellow sugar sprinkles and place in the centers of the daisies. I placed 3 of the daisies in a diagonal line down the cake and added leaves behind them for the focal point. The other daisies are just randomly added without leaves.
I'll cover how to make the bow in an upcoming post.

Las Vegas Cake

Welcome to Las Vegas Cake

This cake was only for a group of 5, so it is only a 6 inch cake. Cut rectangles for the playing cards and use edible markers for whichever cards you'd like. Tip: Purchase black and red fondant for the poker chips.

Beach Cake

Beach Cake

This Beach Cake is mostly buttercream icing. The umbrella, surf boards and flip flops are made from fondant. The cake is a wine cake, but the I will probably use my recipe for a Pina Colada cake in the future
Use dyed piping gel to cake the water look wet.

This is one of my favorite cakes. It's a 4 layer, 8 inch cake.Tip: Use buttercream icing with a medium to firm consistency.

An Introduction

My name is Terri. I am originally from Louisville, Ky but have moved around a lot and have relocated out west to marry the most incredible man on the planet. I love it here, but will always be a southern girl at heart. I love entertaining,  cooking, decorating, diy projects, travelling, but my big passion is decorating cakes. My latest obsession is Pintrest. I enjoy the sharing of so many great ideas. I do a lot of projects, some go smoothly and turn out really well, and others, well ya know..... Anyway, I've never blogged before and thought it might be fun.
